# 3D Editor

> Set up a 3D model in the browser: camera, materials, hotspots, and environment.

In the 3D Editor you load a model, decide how it looks and behaves for viewers, and publish it as a link or an embed.

The editor handles standard mesh models and 3D Gaussian Splatting files. That covers large building scenes as well as single-object scans for product pages. See [Uploading models](https://docs.6ps.si/docs/editor/uploading-models.md) for the full list.

Viewers explore a published model live in their browser. The aim is to shorten the wait for something you can show a client from about an hour of rendering to roughly ten seconds.

## The layout

* **Viewer**, in the middle. Before you add a model, it is a drop zone that says **Drag and drop your 3D asset here**.
* **Left sidebar**:
  * **Objects** lists the models in your scene. See [Uploading models](https://docs.6ps.si/docs/editor/uploading-models.md) and [Model settings](https://docs.6ps.si/docs/editor/model-settings.md).
  * **Positions** holds the saved camera views. See [Camera positions](https://docs.6ps.si/docs/editor/camera-positions.md).
  * **Buttons** places clickable points in the scene. See [Hotspots and buttons](https://docs.6ps.si/docs/editor/hotspots.md).
  * **Advanced** holds visual effects. See [Scene and environment](https://docs.6ps.si/docs/editor/scene-and-environment.md#advanced-display-settings).
* **Right sidebar**:
  * **Scene info** holds the name, description, visibility, and the **Publish** button. See [Publishing a model](https://docs.6ps.si/docs/editor/publishing.md).
  * Settings for the selected position, button, and model, and **Scene Settings** for the background and lighting. See [Scene and environment](https://docs.6ps.si/docs/editor/scene-and-environment.md).
  * **AI Render** creates an AI-edited image from the current view. See [AI render](https://docs.6ps.si/docs/editor/ai-render.md).
  * **Statistics** jumps to the view figures for the model. See [Engagement and analytics](https://docs.6ps.si/docs/sharing/engagement-and-analytics.md).
